Moong dal toast recipe, how to make moong dal toast, moong bread toast is rich in protein and fiber and will help to keep you feel fuller for a longer time. Thus its an ideal meal/snack in your weight loss journey. It's also ideal as a quick snack for kids. When including dal in your diet, always remember to soak it for a longer time at least 2-3 hours of soaking is always ideal to help release the phytic acid content in the dal. Which in turn will help to prevent digestive issues like gas, bloating... phytates also prevents nutrient absorption. If you have noticed having digestive issues when consuming dals, you may need to soak it for a longer time, like maybe overnight soaking.
If you are making for kids you can spread the moong dal batter on both sides of the bread to make it more protein and fibre rich. Using a cast iron tawa will help in better iron absorption. So try to use cast iron when making the toast.
With regards to vegetables, you can use any seasonal veggies of your choice, can also include greens of your choice.
The batter can be made ahead and kept in the airtight glass container in the refrigerator and this way, you will have a batch of moong dal batter to make instant moong toast.
A note about the oil I used in the recipe; I prefer to use wood pressed oils however, you can also use A2 desi ghee if you prefer. I have noticed wood pressed groundnut oil has a very neutral flavour hence, I enjoy groundnut oil in recipes like this.
