Weight Loss Salad - Channa Sweet Potato Salad Recipe

 


Weight loss salad recipe, channa sweet potato salad recipe for weight loss can be had as a filling meal for lunch or dinner. The resistant starch in sweet potato helps to keep you feel fuller for a longer time along with the protein in channa. Channa is also known as chickpeas. This bowl of salad is drizzled with homemade vegan cashew yogurt. Loaded with healthy gut friendly probiotics this salad is a meal in itself.


Ingredients:

2 carrots, grated

handful of shallots, chopped

1 green chilli, chopped

1 tomato, chopped

1/2 capsicum

handful of fresh coriander leaves, chopped

1 medium sweet potato, cubed

1/4 inch ginger, grated

2 garlic cloves, grated

2 cups cooked channa (chickpeas)

Juice of 1 whole lemon

1 tsp roasted jeera powder (cumin powder)

Pink himalayan salt as needed

3/4 tsp amchur powder (dry mango powder)

A sprinkle of chaat masala (optional)

1 tbsp Apple cider vinegar

1/2 tsp black pepper powder

3-4 tbsp vegan cashew curd/yogurt (Recipe video link below)

Notes:

Sweet potatoes are in season hence I used them in this recipe. Sweet potatoes has many amazing health benefits, try to use them when in season.

You can also use boiled and cooled potatoes in this recipe, boiled and cooled potatoes are also rich in resistant starch.

Vegan cashew yogurt gives the much needed healthy gut friendly probiotics along with some natural healthy fats.
