Orange cake recipe, learn to make orange cake with fresh orange and top it with chocolate glaze.
This cake is moist and full of citrus flavour and the chocolate drizzle helped to make it complete. A perfect cake for any occasion.

How to make orange cake video recipe:


Ingredients:
Butter: 100 gm (1 stick)
Sugar: 1 cup (I used 200 ml cup)
Eggs: 2
Flour: 1 1/4 cups
Curd/yogurt: 1/2 cup
Orange Juice: Juice of one orange
Baking Soda: 1/4 tsp
Chocolate Glaze:
Chocolate chips: 1/2 cup
Milk: 2 tbsp
White chocolate chips: 2 tbsp, to sprinkle on top
Note: Bring all ingredients to room temperature.


Method:
Preheat oven to 180 degree C, butter an line an 8 inch cake pan
Into a large bowl, add in softened butter, sugar, curd (yogurt) and eggs. Mix well until pale and fluffy.
Into the batter grate one orange rind.
Slice the orange into half and squeeze into a bowl and then strain it into the batter.
Mix again. The batter will be curdled but never mind that.
Into a sieve add flour and baking soda and add into the batter and mix well.
The batter will be fluffy and creamy.
Pour this into the prepared pan and bake for 35 to 40 mins at 180 degree C or once a tooth pick inserted in the center comes out clean. Once the cake has cooled down, invert it to a wire rack.

Chocolate Glaze:
Melt chocolate chips over simmering hot water and add in milk. Mix well until smooth and glossy. Pour this over cake. Sprinkle white chocolate chips on top.
