I know its been a while since I posted something…….with onam holidays and kids at home kept me on the toes 24/7. I made a chocolate brownie for Homey’s birthday and thought I will share it. Its amma’s age old recipe, it has curd and soda powder in it. As it was hubby dear’s birthday I topped it with chocolate satin icing, cashew nuts, and chocolate noodles. This is easy to make if using an egg beater.
Ingredients:
2 cups: All purpose flour.
½ tsp: Soda powder.
½ cup: Cocoa powder.
½ cup: Milk.
100 gm: Butter.
1 1/2 cup: Powdered sugar.
4: Eggs.
½ cup: Curd.
½ cup: Chopped cashew nuts.
Method:
1. Cream butter and powdered sugar with an egg beater.
2. Add egg yolk one by one and beat on low speed.
3. Add curd to this and beat on low speed.
4. Mix all purpose flour with soda powder and cocoa powder and fold in this into the cream mixture alternating with milk till is soft and fluffy.
5. Fold in the nuts and mix gently. Pour into a greased baking tray and bake till done.
SATIN CHOCOLATE ICING:
SUGAR: 1 CUP.
MILK: 1/2 CUP.
COCOA POWDER: 3 TBSP.
BUTTER: 1 TBSP.
Put sugar, milk, and cocoa powder and bring it to boil and stir. Mix till leaves the sides of the pan or coats the back of the spoon. Add butter, stir for sometime. Let it cool. Pour it on top of cake.Decorate.
