Banoffee Pie Recipe, How To Make Banoffee Pie

banoffee pie

Banoffee pie recipe; banoffee pie is a quick and easy no bake dessert.  Banoffee pie is made with bananas and a rich toffee made from boiled condensed milk and topped with cream. The combination of banana, toffee and cream is heavenly!

Banoffee pie got the name from banana and toffee; the word "banoffee" is used to describe any food or product that tastes or smell of both bananas and toffee, do read more about banoffee pie here

Banoffee pie is one of the easiest no bake desserts and I make this for special occasions; but never got a chance to take pictures. Even before I posted here, I have shared this recipe with many friends and cousins. I wanted to post this for Christmas, but again when I made I could not take pictures.

I badly wanted to take some more pictures, but once the pie was cut my children attacked it as though they were starving for a few weeks....it is that good, literally melt in the mouth.

Dulce de leche or toffee made from condensed milk is the main ingredient in this pie. You might have heard that condensed milk should be simmered in water and boiled for 3-4 hours to make dulce de leche, but my method used pressure cooker and takes only 10 minutes of heating.

I had shared this method back in 2012 when I made cupcake with dulce de leche, but thought I will again show you how it is done.

Step By Step Method:
Lets make the toffee or dulce de leche
Caution:  Let me warn you though it is very easy to make at home you have to be very careful as the contents inside the tin are also boiling when it is pressure cooked. So, if you try to open it when it is still hot; it can burst because of the pressure inside. Please be careful when making this and pls do not let your children handle it when it is still warm.

Place the condensed milk container (remove plastic wrappings) in a pressure cooker. The tin should be immersed in water; either way. Heat the pressure cooker and once when the steam comes, put the weight on the hob and after the 1st whistle simmer the fire for 10 mins and switch off the flame. Do not open the cooker until it is completely cooled.
My son, loses his control when he sees a condensed milk tin. So to be on the safer side I make dulce de leche at night. Just when the kids are tucked in bed, I make this and switch off the fire. It will cool by itself and will be ready in the morn. (so make this at night if you have naughty greedy kids around).

Powder 250 grms of marie biscuit and add 100 gms of melted butter. Mix it until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs.

Press this on to a round pie dish with your fingers or the with the end of a glass. Pour all the "toffee" from the condensed milk tin and spread.

Top with thinly sliced bananas, since my kids do not favor raw banana I used only one banana; you can use up to 3 if you like them...just slice and top the over the toffee.

I whipped about 200 ml cream with 2 tbsp powdered sugar (since the toffee is very sweet). Spread this over the bananas and chill the pie for atleast 4 hours.
Just before serving I like to sprinke cocoa powder and then slice and serve. Kids will love this....this is a very rich pie, so pls be a bit easy on it :)

Try this weekend and enjoy "banoffe pie"

Turmeric Tea Mix Recipe For Weight Loss - Homemade/DIY (Golden) Turmeric Tea Mix

turmeric tea mix - diy turmeric mix to make turmeric tea or golden milk. turmeric tea for weight loss, for a flat belly, stomach bloating, and for overall health. this homemade mix is an excellent fat burner and also will boost immunity. have this on empty stomach in the morning for best results. the active ingredient in turmeric known as curcumin has powerful anti inflammatory effects and is a strong anti oxidant. curcumin is not easily absorbed by the body and that is the reason inspite of us Indians having lots of turmeric in our diet, do not get its full benefits. black pepper is the one natural ingredient that helps the curcumin to be absorbed into the body by around 2000%, wow! So, do not skip black pepper when taking turmeric. All the ingredients I used in this homemade turmeric tea mix are locally acquired and organic. curcumin/turmeric is fat soluble so it is also a good option to have a warm cup after a heavy meal. studies shows that turmeric can prevent cancer, h...

Pidiyum Kozhiyum Recipe - How To Make Kerala Style Kozhi Pidi - Kerala Recipes

Pidiyum kozhiyum or kottayam style pidi is a traditional knanaya cuisine ; these rice dumpling have a thick gravy like sauce, unlike the dry versions of Malabar kakka roti or kozhi pidi. Knanaya style pidi is served with varutharacha kozhi curry. Traditionally, pidi is associated with baby shower ie when the daughter-in-law is sent to her parents house for delivery, it is customary for the mother-in-law to make kozhi pidi and we knanaya people still follow these traditions. My main aim is to preserve this recipe; so that the future generations can enjoy this wholesome dish. Pidi is rice dumplings which is simmered in water along with shallots, garlic, curry leaves, and coriander seeds; but I have used coriander powder instead to make the whole process easy. Amma mentioned that if using coriander seeds then; the water used to mix the rice flour should be sieved and that using fresh roasted coriander powder saves time. I have made a video recipe and I hope this you help...
